Coach Charles Reed is the Owner & Head Instructor of The Reed Academy of Martial Arts located in Cincinnati, Ohio USA. Coach Reed is known as a world class mixed martial arts trainer with over 30 years of experience and also the founder of MMA fighting promotion American MMA Fighting Championships.

In 1995 After years of training under Guru Dan Inosanto, Charles was honored with the rare credentials of Full Instructor in Bruce Lee’s Jun Fan Gung Fu/ Jeet Kune Do and Full Instructor in Kali .

 

In 2013 he accomplished what few have, receiving his black belt in Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu under legendary Professor Jean Jacques Machado, a feet that took nearly 15 years.

In his 30 plus years of training under his mentor Guru Inosanto, Charles Reed has had the privilege to train with the most prolific names in martial arts such as Ajarn Chai Sirisute in Muay Thai, Professor Salem Assli in Boxe Francaise Savate, Pendekar Herman Suwanda in Mande Muda Silat, Pendekar Paul de Thouars in Pentjak Silat Bukti Negara, Punoung Guru Edgar Sulite in Lameco Eskrima, Sifu Larry Hartsell in Jun Fan Gung Fu. Rigan Machado, Carlos Machado. Coach Reed has used his skills and knowledge to train hundreds of students over the years and Reed Academy is home to some of the best amateur and professional MMA fighters in the country.

Shawn Meyer Student and Certified Instructor under Guro Dan Inosanto. Training under Sifu Reed since 1993 in Jeet Kune Do, Instructing since 1996.  Some areas of skilled arts include Wing Chun, Muay Thai, Bando,  Silate, Chinese Boxing, Kali, Lameco Eskrima, Kenpo,  Shoot Wrestling, Jun Fan Kickboxing, and Western Style Boxing. He also holds the rank of black belt  in Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu under Jean-Jacques Machado and is the rank of Silver Glove in Boxe Francaise Savate under Professor Salem Assli.

In 1999 Jon Meyer became certified in Jun Fan Gung Fu and the Filipino Martial Arts under Guro Dan Inosanto. He is a black belt under Jean-Jacque Machado in brazillian Jiu-Jitsu and  also holds the rank of silver glove in Boxe Francaise Savate under Professor Salem Assli.

Shane Kreamelmeyer has been with the Reed Academy since 1997.  Began instructing classes in  2000. Achieved the rank of Green Glove in Boxe Francaise Savate under Professor Salem Assli, Black Belt  in Brazilian Jujitsu under Jean Jacques Machado. In June, 2007,  received certifications in Jun Fan Gung Fu and Filipino Martial Arts under Guro Inosanto.
